Lilly, Shadow and Sunshine – Cruelty Case Dogs
UPDATE 9/22/20 The munchkins are doing good!
Lilly was spayed and and had her mammary masses removed. Biopsy showed benign and she is a healthy little girl who has been adopted!
Sunshine is healing from mass removals and is looking and feeling good! She has been spayed and had several teeth removed and the remaining ones cleaned. Dr Morris said there was enough matted hair that was clumped and rotting under her gums that we could have made an entire stuffed animal out of it. The masses were benign- they were not cancerous! She is able to bite harder now that her teeth don’t hurt but her attitude is improving towards humans- she can tolerate being touched in very small doses. She is blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other. Her vet bills are payed (YAY!!) thanks to generous donations frompeople like you and I can’t thank everyone who has contibuted enough! Aside from her attitude she is fully vetted and adoptable to the right person who will understand and accept her for who she is. She needs to take allergy meds daily (Apequil) to keep from chewing herself and at least while her skin continues to heal and grow hair.
Shadow. Of these three cruelty case dogs out of Miami Shadow is the remaining one that we have not completely vetted yet. She is shy and sweet when she is comfortable in her surroundings. She has been prescribed thyroid medicine to take daily, it is inexpensive and helps her feel better. We were unable to complete her dental procedures or spay because it is not safe to use anesthesia at this time. Hopefully we will know more about her prognosis and if her heart condition is something she can live with and be able to enjoy a peaceful and carefree existence for however long she has. Her heart skips beats. She is happy when she is running around outside and even chases lizards. We will not know if she will be adopt able until she is fully vetted.
Currently we have an outstanding bill at AMC Jupiter for spays and vaccinations of $500 and then the upcoming Cardiologist work up for Shadow will be $130 consult plus $760 for the diagnostics. They are extending a 20% rescue discount for us which is always appreciated. The appt is set for Oct 8th and hopefully we can raise some money to get all of that paid 🙏🏻
As always thank you for caring about the dogs who have been most failed by humans by helping us help them ❤️
